SbA Hubs: Morayfield Competition
Yet another awesome day was held in Moreton Bay on Saturday the 6th of October, and this time it was at none other than Morayfield skatepark! A day jam packed full of learn to skate sessions, BBQ and a competition! I was stoked to hear the locals were very excited that SbA were holding a competition at their park, and it definitely showed when the place packed up with spectators. Under 14’s kicked off the competition, some showing us their new moves from the mornings StreetWise, but it was young gun Cooper Cole that took out first place with tricks and style that were way beyond his age! Big pop shuvits and bs 180’s from the top of the quarter to flat, this is a kid to look out for in the future. Then we went on to the opens… To be honest, I was completely blown away with the level of talent I witnessed! As soon as the first heat started, it was game on. The amount of staggering tricks that were going down, left right and center was hard to judge! With rippers such as Trent Riley doing fs nosegrind pop outs on the out Hubba, Mike Lawry kicky back tails down the Hubba and Z-man with smooth style noseblunting quarter to quarter, this comp was going off! But, there was one lad who stood out above all… Mitchell ‘Mashy’ House! The shredder hardly fell off any trick he tried! Absolutely killing transition and outstanding tricks on the street section, this guy can skate anything. The trick that ended the day was the gap to bs 5-0 that was insane! Check the clip to see what I mean! Cheers to Rob and the Moreton Bay regional council for making the amazing day possible, big ups to Skatebiz for hooking up a mammoth amount of prizes, and John Green for the awesome filming and edit of the clip! Cheers guys! Jim Dandy – Queensland Development ManagerCast:
