The Days Skate & Music Fest
The Days Skate & Music FestAs I walked around The Days Fest on both Friday and Saturday nights, I met a stream of heartfelt handshakes and expressions of gratitude from audience members, band members, skaters, and friends. Everyone was thanking me for organizing the event, and I felt a deep sense of humility. The thing is, I dreamed up and curated The Days Fest as my way of expressing gratitude—to say Thank You to Punk Rock and Thank You to Skateboarding. This event was a celebration of these two foundational aspects of my life. To receive praise for something that comes so naturally to me was incredibly meaningful.    Everywhere I went or found myself inside the Garden Amp, people shared stories with me of how they discovered Punk Rock and Skateboarding, recounting their first records, magazines, videos, demos, and shows. I met fathers, sons, mothers, and daughters. I saw Lagwagon and Bones Ripper tattoos. I took photos with kids and big kids, and I signed t-shirts and skateboards. But the main thing I noticed as I walked around was that everyone was smiling. For a couple of summer evenings in an intimate amphitheater in Southern California, everything was all right.   I would like to extend a special thanks to Lagwagon for headlining both nights—it's a true honor to have them as the band that helped launch The Days Fest. I won't forget it. Much Love and Thanks to all of the Bands, Skaters, and EVERYONE who attended. We're already planning next year's event, so mark your calendars for October 16-17, 2026, and let me know in the comments below which bands you'd like to see!   — Mike Vallely http://thedaysfest.com Photos and Edit: Rob Wallace Additional Photos: Dylan Moore, Dave Mandel, and Deville Nunes. #TheDays #Lagwagon #MikeVAndTheRats
