Land of Skate: AfghanistanThere’s a lot of talk about Flow-States nowadays, isn’t there? Finding your focus. Connecting. It’s a deeply human thing, something we can all do. But that doesn’t mean it’s easy. At Skateistan, we see everyday that focus, flow, connection is out there, even in the most challenging contexts. Our purpose is to create spaces where young people can find it more easily, can tap into the thing that makes us all feel empowering; like we’re flying and grounded at the same time. That builds resilience and self-knowledge and autonomy. Because when you find your focus, it’s one of the best feelings out there. (Plus, with us you’re also on a skateboard, which is sick.) Skateistan has been offering skate & arts based education in South Africa for just under ten years now, creating spaces where children & youth can shape their futures.
