Mike first heard about Tyler and his accident because Tyler was wearing a pair of Element shoes that could have factored into saving his life. Mike sits down with Tyler to hear his story. Mike and Tyler also visit the Merchant family, and Mike skates a quarter pipe with Jon Merchant, Samantha's brother, in the family's driveway. Then, Mike, Tyler, and Tyler's friends skate at the Churubusco skate park, and Mike gives Tyler a brand-new Jeep Wrangler X.
