Element Barcelona 2019ELEMENT BARCELONA featuring the FREDITANO PROJECT With the launch of the Freditano project, Element presented a three-day long event series, named ELEMENT BARCELONA, celebrating Skateboarding and the Arts in one of the most iconic European skate cities, Barcelona. Element hosted several events and an art workshop from 25th – 27th April 2019. Kicking off the event series with a signing session and the release of a limited-edition deck by French Fred at Tactic Barcelona, the Element team riders had a blast during a rad launch ramp session happening in the streets and which was shut down by the local police. Those who missed the team that day had the chance to skate with them the next day at Barcelona’s famous skate plaza MACBA. A private party with a screening of a skate video created during the previous ten days in Barcelona was shown along with the surprise video part announcing Element's newest Global Pro Jaakko Ojanen. At the center of event series was a workshop curated by Element Advocates French Fred and Fernando Elvira. 12 workshop participants were selected through an Instagram photo contest with the project partners skate media @Macbalife, lifestyle media Ocimag and Barcelona based Massana Art School. During three days the participants worked on their own interpretation of the Freditano project. Together with artist Fernando Elvira and photographer French Fred they created a mash-up of their photos, shot with French Fred in Barcelona and mixed with cut-out art technics, inspired by Fernando Elvira. On the last day of the Element Barcelona event series, Element hosted an Art exhibition to showcase all artworks of the 12 workshop participants. Besides drinks, finger food and DJ, there was a screen-printing station where custom skateboard decks and tee-shirts could be created for everyone. Another highlight of the evening was a live guitar performance by Element Advoc
