Exploring the Skateboarding Mecca of Spain with Jason Hernandez's TWS Vault Ep 58.Words by Jason Hernandez: In America, "LAND OF THE FREE," the police will come into a schoolyard that you're skating and treat you like a criminal. They'll say, "You're trespassing, you're damaging private property, you're vandalizing. What if you fall and sue?" Blah blah blah. Going to another country, I quickly fell in love with this style of people and city. Seeing how they reacted to us was strange to me - in a good way. It was so cool rolling into new towns and the locals would show you around. I think that's how we found the gap to many into the bank. In America this spot would be considered "a treasure, a piece of art" or something along those lines. You could never skate it, you would probably be arrested if you tried. But in Spain It was just sitting in between these buildings near a little skatepark, and we could skate until a security guard came and asked us to leave (totally normal). Some locals started talking with him. I didn't know what they were saying but he was actually talking to them and having a conversation—WOW! In L.A. The cops speak down to you. Back to Spain, the security ended up letting us hang out (drink beer) and watched us skate for a while with no stress, no worries. Traveling is so cool when it really opens your eyes, I miss it. Featuring Shiloh Greathouse, Omar Salazar, Richard Angelides, Stefan Janoski, and Kyle Leeper. I start each video the same way, I pick two to five DV tapes (in order) from my TransWorld DV drawer. I read my log book and find out what’s in store for the next video. I line the deck up with the time code that coincides with what I have written down, and the memories start flowing. I’ll fiddle with the order depending on just how gnarly the tricks are, BUT these videos are chronological in the sense that I do not skip around to different tapes just to find “gnarlier” t
