GWAR X COWTOWN ORGHow do we recap a night like GWAR!?! No, for real - we couldn’t document much & even if we did, it would be too crazy to share on our website. This is no surprise to the GWAR fans, their shows are a bit wild with showmanship and sprays of fake blood & well, let’s say other worldly discharge. The show started like any other, outside The Rialto Theatre - a long line filled with excitement and impatient fans. Once through safety checkpoints for health and booze, it was a full barge to claim a spot closest to center stage. The anxious crowd ran straight into Phoenix locals set, THRA! They kicked off the show with high energy carnage. We’ve been lucky enough to see ‘em perform multiple times and gotta say this night was one of the best! After THRA, EYEHATEGOD took stage & holy s#it!, pun intended, did they keep the show goin’. Seriously set up and slayed so fast, you couldn’t even grab a drink. Slight settling after EYEHATEGOD. This was perfect downtime to visit the CowtownS.K.A.T.E. & Tucson Skatepark Alliance booths. Both nonprofits were playin games and raising funds for their missions! Whilst outside we heard a soft English voice rambling… Everyone rushed inside full force toward the stage! They knew that ‘soft voice’ lead to the absolute chaos that is Napalm Death! The pits went so wild, you could feel it across the street in Congress. Drumroll please… The crowd silently waits. Suddenly all the blood, guts and glory that is GWAR takes the stage! Within the first 10 minutes a well choreographed mutilation blasted the crowd with blood. Truthfully, the crowd didn’t catch much of that one, they centered attention on the stage front security guard… He was a trooper though, all smiles.
