Pin Drop - The Copley Barrier with Jerry Fowler & Friends
Pin Drop - The Copley Barrier with Jerry Fowler & FriendsCopley Square has been a homebase for Boston skateboarders for over 30 years, with most of the action going down at the Library or fountain. Just to the side of the Library sits a painted yellow sloping concrete barrier with a super unique shape that seems to be highly skateable, the only catch is that it's an entrance to the Mass Pike Interstate and at the intersection of 5 streets in the heart of the city. Navigating the surrounding environment of the spot is as much of a challenge as it is actually skating it! Over his 20 year career as a pro skater Orchard team rider Jerry Fowler seemed to have at least a trick or two on it in almost every part, some locals even coined the spot "The Jerrier" because of his proficiency in finding new ways to skate it. In a new Pin Drop editorial series on orchardshop.com Jerry talks with Ian Browning about the nuances of skating the barrier, and some of his favorite tricks other people have done including some of the heads in this compilation montage cut up by Lee Madden. Skaters - Jerry Fowler, Jahmal Williams, Eli Reed, Steve Durante, Joey Pepper Filmed by - Roger Bagley, Ray Echevers, James Lantry, Haven Lamoreaux, Andrew Petillo, Armin Bachman, and probably someone else we're missing.
