Carlos Ribeiro: LRG x Zumiez
Check out LRG rider Carlos Ribeiro in the latest Zumiez interview video! ZUMIEZ: Soccer seems pretty big in Brazil. Do you or your family play? CARLOS RIBEIRO: Yes it is. Soccer is the main thing in Brazil, and my father used to be a professional soccer player, and of course I got into soccer when I was very young. One day I rolled my ankle playing soccer, and I was skating at the same time, so I gave up on soccer. I guess I love skating. ZUMIEZ: Where did the nickname “DUDU” come from? CARLOS RIBEIRO: My full name is Carlos Eduardo De Silva. Dudu comes from Eduardo, which is very common in Brazil. ZUMIEZ: Who on LRG do you get along with the best? CARLOS RIBEIRO: I would say Trenton. (Trent McClung) We got on flow at the same time, and we got on the team at the same time. We have been on a lot of trips together, and we have been skating a lot together since we met. Yeah, Trenton, and shout out to the McClung brothers. ZUMIEZ: How do you feel about Shane O’Neill and Devine Calloway joining Primitive? CARLOS RIBEIRO: I have been hyped on Shane and Devine for a long time, and I am very stoked on having those two on the team. I cant wait for the next trip to come so we can all skate together. ZUMIEZ: What trick has given you the most frustration? CARLOS RIBEIRO: The switch back three was the most frustrating trick, that’s for sure. It took my three years to land it, and I was taking little breaks, like three months. Yeah, most frustrating trick, but best feeling ever. Carlos Ribeiro rides for LRG, Nikes SB, Independent, Primitive, Andale, and Autobahn.
