Check out Vans rider Daniel Lutheran in the latest Zumiez interview video! ZUMIEZ: What was the first video part you saw that made you re-imagine skateboarding? DANIEL LUTHERAN: We saw “The End.” The Birdhouse video, and Reynolds was drinking with the monkey. A little sippy sippy, and I think that formulated my image of skateboarding. ZUMIEZ: What was the best part of growing up in New Mexico? DANIEL LUTHERAN: You kind of just got to go at your own pace, and I really enjoyed that. There are a lot of creative outlets, like I could skate, go to college, and I could do everything I wanted. Yeah, so the leisure, the freedom, the space, but nice and slow. ZUMIEZ: How did you get connected with Vans? DANIEL LUTHERAN: Johnny Layton put me in the game. Him and Acosta, and Jamie Hart. I was riding for Circa, and I had always wanted to be on Vans. So those dudes came to me and said we could go on a trip together, and this and that, and ended up getting on flow. ZUMIEZ: What Vans shoe do you skate the most? DANIEL LUTHERAN: This one, the Era Pro, its so sick, and so good. You can skate it in for ages. I like the Chimas and the Gilberts too, those are good pro shoes as well, but what I always go back to is the Era Pro. ZUMIEZ: What Vans rider do you have the most fun on road trips with? DANIEL LUTHERAN: Cowboy Gil; Me and cowboy Gil have been doing it live on these last trips for sure, and it’s been fun. I have so many great friends on Vans, but I love being around Gilbert and Chima. Those dudes are next level on the trips.
