This Hometown Heroes stop proved to be an arduous battle against not only the fellow competitors but against nature herself. Like a fisherman out in a storm, these competitors were subject to all the elements but wouldn't relent. The practice rounds went off smoother than expected. Just as the zero hour was upon us, the winds of change took a turn from milky white peace clouds, to the black thunderstorm of destruction. It seems preposterous to believe how such a serene day can take a total 180 into dark gloom and high-speed winds of medieval proportions. Although the weather that slapped us in the face was ugly and challenging, the skaters made it their mission to not let it deter them from true balls-to-the-wall ripping.
